Mooch Does Germany: Cocktails, Clean Air & Workshop Chats

When five members of the Mooch Creative crew boarded a flight at Heathrow, they did so in true Mooch fashion: British Airways Business Class, naturally. Fizz, food and a strong sense of “we could get used to this” set the tone nicely.

Touching down in Basel, the team grabbed the keys to their hire car and cruised across the border into Freiburg, the first stop on the mini-adventure. After some light refreshments, they made a beeline for traditional German cuisine. Schnitzel, beer, the works.

The Main Event: Zehnder HQ

The big reason for the trip? A drive to Lahr to spend the day with our long-term partners, Zehnder Clean Air Solutions. The team ran a full brand workshop covering messaging, storytelling, tone of voice and all the juicy strategic bits that keep Cariss in her element. Their offices were seriously impressive too, naturally we stopped for photos. It’s basically the rule.

Work wrapped, brains full, and notebooks overflowing, the team headed out for dinner with the Zehnder gang. Conversation ranged from travel and books to future plans… and probably a fair few tangents in between.

The Freiburg After-Hours Tour

Back in Freiburg, Mooch did what Mooch does best: found one of the city’s top bars. The award-winning One Trick Pony delivered contemporary twists on classic cocktails, and when we say impressive, we mean “can we steal this for a photoshoot?” impressive.

But the night didn’t end there.

Ryan, in heroic wingman fashion, insisted that Cariss experience one final stop: Shooters Shot Bar, highly recommended by the Zehnder girls and now firmly part of Mooch lore. Many beers and even more shots later, they called it. Cariss woke up with what can only be described as a “character-building” headache.

Homeward Bound

A gentle morning wander for coffee closed the trip, before the team made their way home, inspired, energised and ready to crack on with the next phase of the work.

Watch this space. Big things brewing.
